Government Railway Police, Howrah is performing a myriad task for providing general policing services across its jurisdiction to ensure smooth railway operations in co-operation with all other stakeholders of Railway and District Police / District Administration. The prime roles of the Howrah GRP are to maintain law & order all the time, to prevent & detect crime and to ensure safety & security of the passengers across railway jurisdiction. The jurisdiction of Howrah GRP district extends to entire 1094.76 Railway Kilometre, which covers Howrah- Asansol, Howrah- Azimganj via Kalna/ Katwa towards North Bengal, Howrah-Rampurhat routes.
