Bandel GRPS Cracks Theft Case | Accused Arrested & Stolen Property Recovered

In a significant breakthrough, Bandel GRPS has solved a theft case registered vide Bandel GRPS Case No. 22/26 dated 13.08.2026 u/s 331(4)/303(2) BNS, relating to theft from an IRCTC stall at Chinsurah Railway Station, PF No. 01.

The accused, Ranit Ghosh, was identified and apprehended with the assistance of the SOG and Belur GRPS team.

During interrogation and subsequent police custody, the tools used in the commission of the offence, stolen Cadbury/confectionery items and other stolen articles were recovered from different locations.

Further investigation also led to the identification and arrest of the receiver of the stolen property.

The recovery of stolen property and arrest of the receiver mark a significant progress in the investigation.
