০৮.০৪.২৬) তারিখের সন্ধ্যায়, সাইঁথিয়া রেল স্টেশনে এক ব্যক্তির কাছে বিপুল পরিমাণ অর্থের কোনো বৈধ উৎস নেই, এমন নির্ভরযোগ্য তথ্যের ভিত্তিতে, হাওড়া জিআরপি (GRP) জেলার আওতাধীন সাইঁথিয়া জিআরপি থানার আধিকারিক ও পুলিশ বাহিনী সাইঁথিয়া রেল স্টেশনের ১/২ নম্বর প্ল্যাটফর্মে, ফুট ওভারব্রিজের অদূরে এক সন্দেহভাজন ব্যক্তিকে সফলভাবে আটক করেন। তার কাছ থেকে মোট ১০,০০,০০০/- (দশ লক্ষ) টাকা বাজেয়াপ্ত করা হয়।

On(08.04.26) the evening, officers and forces from the Sainthia GRP Police Station, operating under the Howrah GRP District, conducted a raid based on reliable information regarding an individual at Sainthia Railway Station who was reportedly in possession of a substantial amount of unexplained cash. They successfully apprehended a suspect on Platform No. 1/2 of Sainthia Railway Station, near the foot overbridge. The individual identified himself as Prithiraj Mondal, 45 years old, son of the late Singh Charan Mondal, residing in Madanpur, PS- Sainthia, Birbhum. A search of his black backpack revealed a significant sum of cash. When questioned, the individual was unable to provide any valid documentation or justification for the money and offered inconsistent statements. Consequently, the cash, amounting to Rs. 10,00,000/- (Ten Lakhs), was confiscated. The counting process was conducted using a money-counting machine and was videographed in accordance with established protocol for legal action.

The accused was subsequently taken into custody following the recovery. A formal complaint led to the registration of Sainthia GRPS Case No. 19/26, dated April 8th, 2026, under Sections 303(2)/317(2)/ 317(5). The accused is scheduled to appear before the Honorable ACJM, Rampurhat Court, today on 09.04.26.
