Three minor boys rescued by Asansol GRP Thana from Illegal Labour Racket from Jasidih-Tambaram Express Train yesterday 

On 18.03.2026, acting on a secret input, a joint team of GRPS Asansol and RPF conducted a raid at Asansol Railway Station in Train No. 12376 Jasidih–Tambaram Weekly SF Express. Two accused persons, namely Niranjan Kumar Singh (50) and Amit Das (18), were arrested along with recovery of three minor boys. During interrogation, the two artested accused persons admitted that they had allured the minors with promise of high-paying jobs in Jharsuguda (Odisha) and Chennai (Tamilnadu) for illegal monetary gain. They failed to produce any valid labour supply documents. The accused were arrested following due legal procedure, and the minor boys were rescued and handed over to Childline Asansol for safe custody, to be produced before CWC Paschim Bardhaman. 
Accordingly, a case has been registered at Asasnsol GRP Thana under the Juvenile Justice Care and Protection Act, 2015 and the Child Labour Act, 1986 for investigation. The accused persons were produced before the Ld. Court with a prayer for remand for the purpose of proper investigation.
All three recovered boys are from Godda District in Jharkhand and are in 13-16 years age group.
