Today (17.03.2026) at about 12:45 hrs, acting on a tip-off a good quantity of contraband Cannabis has been recovered and seized by GRP Thana of Kalna under Howrah GRP District.
One person carrying the contraband namely Gobinda Roy (38 yrs) of Dinhata, Coochbihar has been arrested along with a bag containing the Cannabis weighing 7 kilogram. 
During preliminary interrogation, he stated that he was coming from New Coochbehar Jn. to Ambika Kalna RS to deliver the same.

The accused person willl be forwarded before Ld. ADJ, 3rd Court, Purba Bardhaman, tomorrow.
